What is an example of the path used?

there’s “cache” folder inside the theme directory, that should be CHMOD to 777/755

I also can’t seem to find the TimThumb script located in the them pack. Do you have to add it in on top of the theme of is it included?

I re-downloaded the pack and installed it over the previous version of the theme. Still no luck
I made the 2 custom fields “featured” and “thumbnail” and used this path for the image:

I have the same problem as you. Hosting at hostgator and images doesn`t work. I see that you got it right. Can you tell me how ?
During the last week of October, Hostgator started upgrading their servers to Apache 2.0. There’s a security function in Apache 2.0 that prevents the timthumb from working.
Try to contact hostgator, tell them the problem and ask them to get ur site whitelisted on the mod_security stuff.
ok now the featured is working but not the thumbnail.

I was having problems with freehostia so i change to 6te.net, wordpress is updated to 2.7.1. I can comment now… But it’s not showing featured and thumbnail images.
Timthumb.php is in okinawa folder… I just chmod cache folder 755 and 777 and timthumb 644.
Is that a problem of 6te.net hosting?
Just saw your website in freehostia, it looks good now. Thumbnails works, The comment is there (but you set it to only logged in user allowed, change it in from the WP dashboard).
But seems you modified the single.php theme?? coz in single post view, the sidebar is out of the content-area div.
Just replace the single.php with the fresh one from the package and it should go fine.

I didn’t change anything in single.php. It’s ok viewing with firefox but not good with Internet Explorer… There’s a missing image in top header “MAIOR DE ALAGOAS” and in “flickr” (i changed to proximo jogo).
And i still having problems with text space… I cant dont break line with spaces beetween them.
The problem i’m having now is because my members cant make register… Well, they do register but there’s no e-mail for confirmation with password.

Hi, i’m having a problem with the ads in this theme. The website doesn’t show the ad images, but shows a link that says “Advertisements” and points to my own website.
The configuration has been set in the admin panel, but not even the default values that come with the theme work. Help!

2. You have to edit the PSD Logo files provided with photoshop, save it as PNG and upload it into ur images directory.
3. You should edit the index.php file and remove the featured div part from it.

Okay. I replaced the logo just fine, without any coding changes. How do I change the width of the image? (I changed the file itself to fit in the coded parameters to make it fit.)

The slideshow need at least 3 post in featured category to make it work.
Also make sure you use the correct custom fields (case sensitive)
I made 3 test posts but still didnt work.

In the Falkner theme the read more does not seem to work, any work around please?
If you could, please take a look at my site – I was able to get the featured pic to work, but the post thumbnail pics will not work. I have changed the permissions to 755, and then tried 777 and the custom field is labeled thumbnail – case sensitive. I am running PHP 5 and i have a direct path to my .jpg files, all hosted on my domain. I have 10x checked everything and nothing. Any ideas? Thanks.
Anyone know why posts go directly to Archives? I have Disqus comments on and the box will not show.
Also, the post thumbnails DO NOT work – I have done everything possible to get it back up and running and they refuse to work.
post link will go to individual post, not an archive. Maybe u accidentally edit the code wrongly, try redownloading the theme.
And for the post thumbnail, do not change the theme folder name to “okinawa_sky”, if you have just “okinawa”, it will be fine
I just deleted the entire theme and plugins – redownloaded okinawa from this site, reuploaded everything in. Turned it on – http://www.kalooz.com – and it’s the same. I do, however, have the featured post thumbnail working down below, but the other thumbnails are not working.
It seems that all posts links are going directly to archives? For the life of me, I cannot figure out why? Am I missing something?
I have not edited any code – but I just noticed that there is no page labeled: http://www.kalooz.com/featured (or any category name). It takes me to a 404 page.
I have not changed the name of the theme folder – it reads okinawa – still no thumbnails.
I stripped it all the way down – reinstalled it and the posts are still being sent to archives – it is not creating a kalooz/category name – it auto creates kalooz/archives/category name.
Any ideas?

Sorry man – should have responded when I figured it out.
I guess at some point, some time, I changed the permalink setting from default to custom. I have no idea when or why I did it, but it was changed. When changed back to default, everything was restored.

Thanks for the amazing theme. Great job! But i do have one question which has been stated throughout this board. I can not get the thumbnail pictures or the featured pictures to appear. I have tried everything including loading a new theme, checking and rechecking the chmod on all folders and pages. As well, as checking for broken picuture links and makeing sure all settings are correct. But still no luck at all and I’ve been at it all day. No luck, it was already set to default. Could it be a problem that godaddy is my host and with permisssions.

JD, upload your pics to /wp-content/themes/okinawa_sky/cache/ (make sure you CHMOD it to 777 and in your post add Custom Fields as Faizal said. Use complete URL in Custom field like http://your-blog-url/wp-content/themes/okinawa_sky/cache/yourimage.jpg

Is there any risk in updating to 2.8 with this theme? Are all of the plugins that you include compatible? Has anyone used this theme on 2.8?
Matt, I maintain quite a number of wordpress self-hosted blogs. All of them successfully upgraged to new version, except just one which completely messed up and it deleted my database contents. Luckily, I had a free wordpress from where I imported the whole contents again, but I lost the stats
So, my best advice will be to backup your db first, then for a short time activate default theme and then upgrade. If you see all is working fine, reactivate old theme.
I can’t seem to get it to work. I have placed the a sample featured post by simply adding “featured” to the category but as for the thumbnails, I don’t know why it’s not working. I am not sure if I have a GD Library and I am hosting my own blog through a reseller account.

@hanudy: this is just a guess, i think the answer is inside your blog admin panel, in settings > general tab, check these two things: WordPress address (URL) & Blog address (URL): i think you have set your main domain url there? keep both same, and keep both at your blog’s access url. if that is not the case, then you may try a shortcut: find this line in header.php: Home – here, you can write the direct blog url instead of that “/” (make a backup of your files first, whichever you change)

And when I activated it, the slideshow window did not show up. Instead the categories showed up below the NAV BAR up to the top of the post tiltle of my recent post which made it appear messy. I just switched back for the moment to my old theme. Any help please?

@SAMMY: did you try uploading via FTP? extract the archive on desktop first, then upload the theme folder via FTP, i hope all problems will disappear
I’ll try to do it again if it will work this time. I have done it already via an FTP also. The file that I got here could not be installed via the WP dashboard. Only the copy that I got from the dreamline studio site was successully installed but there were error messages as what I’ve reported earlier. The twitter and RSS worked fine only the slide show window is not showing up amd the category list showed up in the NAV menus

Thank you for the awesome theme! I have an issue where the thumbnails are not showing up on my theme but the featured images on the slider are.
The custom field is set up correctly and the images are in my domain, the cache folder has it’s permissions set to 755, the GD Library is installed, timthumb.php is set to 644 and the path in the thumbnail custom field is http://wyzepages.com/wp-content/uploads/One-If-by-land-Thumb.png which works when entered in a browser.
Strangely if I look in the cache folder all of the Featured images are being written to it but none of the thumbnails appear.

Thanks for the info on this theme. I am going to be transferring a site over within the next few days. If things go well, I have 5 WordPress sites I might consider transferring. One thing I may run into is the Hostgator problem, so I may have to get them to whitelist me.
