  I’m using godaddy aswell, my thumbnails are working, but my featured doesn’t seem to work. I’ve done the following, changed the permissions to 777 and tried 755, i made sure i had several featured items posted, 4 to be exact. However, it doesn’t seem to be working for me.
  
  Also, my RSS feed shows an X and my username ID is squintonline.

it worked for me when i add more than 3 items did you added the custom field, use “featured” as the name and the value is going to be the full URL of the image

    Whatever the name of the category is fine to be appear in the slideshow is fine, you just have to specified it via the theme options page.
    
    But for the image custom field, you have to use “featured” as the Custom Fields Keys

The size is 490px width and 280px height, but any image size is fine, as their will be automatically resize by the timthumb script.

I have posts with tag, which divides an article into mutiple pages. But the line with links “page 1 2 3″ etc. at the end of the text doesn’t appear here.
Is there a solution ?

At the moment, the Link Page tags is not yet integrated into this theme as it’s very rarely used.

THe address of my site is a temp one why i build it. But i am having an issue with the Image gallery i have added pics and also done al lthe steps but when i load in IE its totally wrong and the banner below it moves into the gallery window and messes up the gallery feature. First – I would like to tell you – awesome theme(s). I have been researching wordpress themes for a while now and this and Okinawa Sky are by far the best I have come across. Much thanks for putting these together.

I have a few questions about the Falkner Press theme, brought on by setting it up for my website. I am not sure if it’s best to ask them each in their own post or all in this one. I’ll try it this way – let me know if it would be better to create a new post per each question and I will do so.

Again, these all pertain to the Falkner theme.

1) Is there a way to set up the Features articles slide so as to carry only 1 Featured article (as you can in Okinawa Sky)?

2) I would like to move the RSS Feedburner widget down into the bottom bar – to replace the Advertisements widget. Is that possible and, if so, how would I go about doing so?

3) I am trying to get the Twitter widget to look the same as it does for Okinawa Sky – meaning I would like to change the ‘>>>’ link to read ‘Follow Me’ instead and have it link directly to my Twitter Profile and not to the individual Tweet. The plugin is the same for both Themes, but it changes for each. It’s a minor issue, but would really like to tweak it.

I am hosting my site on GoDaddy. I have access to the files, but do not know how to do the following:

e.g: Set the /cache/ folder permissions to 777 or 755.

I am having issues with the images appearing on the home page. I have added three featured posts with the correct Custom Fields added as instructed.

RME – think I can help here. I figured it out just recently.

What FTP service are you using to get to GoDaddy? I use FileZilla – I think it should be the same on all.

Connect to your GoDaddy site via FTP. On the GoDaddy side, find the cache folder. Highlight it and right-click, click on File Permissions. Change to 777 or 755. Should be good to go from there.

Camel – any luck on my questions above? I really appreciate it.

The slideshow using mootools js framework, if u use also other framework like jqueryon ur site, it’s uncompatible and will not work.

Hey first off love your theme. Really good job on it and I appreciate the price. I had some trouble with the featured area like most people but after reading this, and looking elsewhere, I have succeeded in getting something there at least.

My Question is: Is there a special way to make it switch between article features? I can only seem to get 1 up there. Yes I have imputed the category, and yes the cache is set right. Also, is there a way to make the excerpt or wording go below the feature? It just doesn’t look that good above and there is no distinction between the article title and the excerpt. They are both the same size, font, and style. Any help would be nice, and my site should be referred to in the above. Thank you in advance for all the help and I hope you don’t pass me by. I have bought several themes and wouldn’t think twice about making a donation if I can get this the way I want it. Thanks

I am having problems with the theme. I contacted hostgator to allow the security thing. I chmodded the cache folder and I have atleast 3 posts in the featured category. I made sure it was “Featured” I then played with it all with and without caps. I am in a bind. I really love the theme it suits the site sooo well nothing else compares to it. Please help me out. How do you change the title of the blog instead of Falkner Press? I tried loading the default wordpress themes and it pulls my site name from the general settings in wordpress 2.8.

OK I am hosting on Bluehost, and I am having endless trouble getting the images and featured section to work. I know it will be a simple fix, but I am just firing shots into the dark at the moment.

I really liked this theme for it’s potential. I liked the design, I loved the cost, and I felt initially it would work perfectly for what I planned to do. Now as I get more popular, and the quality of my posts gets better, I need something that can and does the things that I want it to. In theory this is a great theme. It is simple to a point, but that would make it easier for a noob to latch on to it and make something great. However, the “featured article” item is difficult to use, even for a almost wordpress pro. Also the actual posting is weird when it comes to headings and usability of type sets and fonting. They never turn out the way they are suppose to, and I am constantly previewing my post to tweek it just a little bit to get anywhere close to what I want. Anyways, I am not downing the theme I do love it, and if and when these fixes come in to play, I may use it again. Until then friends, great attempt.

Hi I thought I’d give this theme a try cuz it looked pretty nice, but the footer gives me this error:

To everyone having a problem with the feature gallery…

Reset your settings to the default in the theme options. Then use your “default” wordpress category as the featured category. This will be the “uncategorized” category when you are using a fresh install. It will grab this automatically.

I just spent 2 hours messing with it and then tried the obvious and this worked like a charm!

If you need it spelled out in simple terms… use the category that wordpress creates as the first category for you when you first install it. Boom… instant cooless.

Thanks for the great theme. I have an issue though. I am using the Falkner House theme.

My content for each page/post looks great in the WYSIWYG editor as I am entering it, but after it is published, the formatting on the published pages of the site looks horrible.

For example, the bolding and italicizing does not show up, text and image alignments don’t work, etc.

Does anyone else have this problem?

As mentioned, the content looks fine in the WYSIWYG editor, it’s just in the published posts and pages that any type of formatting is completely lost.

If anyone has any fixes for this issue, I would greatly appreciate it. I am using wordpress 2.8.3 if that makes a difference.

Hi there,
is it possible to change something so that when someone clicks on an article (leaving the first page) and reads it, the article body/space extends to the 1st sidebar, so only the article and the far right sidebar (the 2nd one) are shown?

To make it clear I would want the 1st sidebar (where the “Latest Twists” is placed) not to be shown when somenone is within an article… and reads it.

Can this be done?

Hey I love this theme and the best part is you are letting everyone have it for FREE!

I am having a problem with the theme. I uploaded it went to the back theme options and thought you could put a java script under the advertising sections… When I did that it messed the whole theme up. I uninstalled it reinstalled it and something must have gotten stuck. I know there if you scoll down there is a reset button but the java script messed it up somehow to now it will not show me the reset button…

Is there a way I can reset the settings somehow to the orginal settings?

I actually got my problem resolved! Now I am just having a problem with the featured gallery slideshow. Can someone explain why the pictures will not appear or slied?
I put 3 posts with pictures, under custom field I put featured, and then I attached a picture url to it.

@Estevan I had the featured category named correctly. I found out the reason why my pictures where not showing up.

*for everyone else*
If you read above on the instruction he says “you must have the picture on your server for the thumbnail to show up” I thought it meant only for the post thumbnail, but that also includes the slideshow. So you need to have the picture on your server for it to show up on the slideshow.

Now I hope someone can help me with one more thing. pictures are not rotating… It is just showing the last post I did. Where do you edit how long the trasitions are and how many posts you can have in the gallery?
