CamelGraph Intro – The Beginning of Something Awesome

Welcome to CamelGraph. My name is Faizal, and this is the first post in the history of this site. To start it, I will tell you a story about how I’m end up working with this web design and development thingy.

At The Beginning…

I got my first computer back in 2005 when i just graduate from high-school and that is also my first introduction to the internet. Times fly, and just like in other things I’ve done in my life, I begin questioning. I’m curious to know how the hell I can have my own webpage. That brings me to know another word : “Blogging” .

The First Blog…

I created my first blog back in 2006 in the blogspot platform. The blog topic is just about anything happen in my real life, like online diary. Couple months later, i’m getting bored with writing. Since then, i consider my blogspot is dead, the content is no longer original and just copy-pasting other people’s post (back then, i don’t have any clue about blogging ettiquette ) . But more than producing the blog content itself, the most interesting part of this phase is actually managing the site backend. I’ve really have good time editing the site template, configuring the widget,adding tracking script, some adsense ads, etc. At this point i realize that writing is not really my passion.

The “Almighty” WordPress

I was in the local bookstore when i found one book about running a site on WordPress , and that simple book turns out to be my first step into the web development world. The book teach me about how to setup hosted wordpress in a web server, some thing that i’m not familiar with at that time. I’m getting more excited because self-hosted WordPress giving me more room to improve my site with all the plugins, themes, and of course the strong community that always there to answer all my noob questions. With that passion and knowledge, i’m encourage my self to make this site.

My plan about CamelGraph?

Well, i’m currently learning to create my own WordPress theme, and this site will be the place to release all my future wordpress theme. I also planning to start blogging (again) about anything related to web design and development, and i hope this site can contribute something to the community.
